I completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled, did the mods 4.08, 4.09m, 4.1 both parts and the 4.1.1 and I copied and pasted the english fix to the DGen file. When I switch the HSFX history mod on my game loads in Russian and the splash screen is the same as the 4.09m mod. Once loaded the game shuts down after about 5 sec. Now I will say I have Vista home premium which I believe is the problem. I know Vista sucks, but I used to play with the unified installer without any problems. If anyone has a clue about this issue I would greatly appreciate the help.

You see that part????? That not RIGHT.
HSFX needs a CLEAN install. make sure the game folder has nothing
left behind. CLEAN. Check game after each patch install
to insure the game works.
All the mods worked, 4.08 and 4.09. No issues, game started right up and in proper mod indication. Today was actually the first time I was able to do a clean install. I have a program that cleans all deleted junk files that are hidden and left behind. The crazy thing is, if I have the HSFX mod turned off the game works. Switch it on and bam, Im reading Russian.
Yeah, I made sure I directed the paths to the game folder. Since I have Vista 64x, the path is a bit screwy. Program (86x) files. You are correct, 4.08 and .09 are patches, I just called them mods. I am just so confused why my game is acting up. I just want to play. I have the actual game disks, not a downloaded version. Again any thoughts?

OK- I want you to check your game folder where the game is installed.
MAKE sure you do not have TWO folders one UBISOFT this is where your game should be. Then that there is NOT a folder
called forgotten battles.
With the installers with HSFX I have found they get a little screwy. IF you do not make sure
they in fact have the TRUE game path- They may make a new one called FORGOTTEN BALLTES and it '
will install there and the game will not play- Correct- I have no idea why this happens
but it does. So make sure your HSFX did install in the correct place.
Probably Vista messing things up. I think people have better results installing the game to a folder outside of Programs, or Program Files, or My Documents. A folder in the root of a HD might work better, like C:\Games for e.g. Someone with experience with Vista will have to add to this....not me.
Yeah, I directed the download to the right folder. Their isnt a forgotten battles folder. I made sure to direct it to the ubisoft folder. In the folder I see the HSFX mod and can turn the mods on or off. I really think it's a vista issue at this point.

I think your oh so right. Hope some was of some help - Good Luck !!!
I have both HSFX and UP installed in my Vista "Games" folder. No problems with it.
Murph: Hey do you have the home delux version of Vista? Maybe I'll do a clean uninstall and direct the game to my games folder and see if that works.
Well another clean install and the game isn't working. Turn the mod on and its russian.
