Phil_K's Big Campaign Thread

Hi phil_K

i'm trying your compains for lal_rone Okinawa map i repainted in order to have i mind some of your request for Okinawa repainted V2. i have little things to ask you:

- "ShadowOfTheSun-Hayate" work fine, i just remamed properties files lal_rone into okinawa ( i kept the stock name). but "ShadowOfTheSun" gives me an error during the launch : " hook :
_MGUNDump01 not found ".
Do you know what this means ? i renamed all properties files with just okinawa as name but it doesn't change at all. i don't think it's a missing object too as "ShadowOfTheSun-Hayate"works
fine.

- second, this for improve the this map for V2 edition. i notice as for all you compains you use many objects and it's a very good point !!!really
 . i was looking for a way to integrate this to the map as i want to repopulate it.
so i want to be coherent with your compains : so have a map or something indicating quickly all the modification and objects you put on your compains in order to take it as beginning for
populate this map ( and others too later..)

Thanks

Are you using Tiger33's new sound mod? If so, that is the source of the hook errors and you need to get the patch in the Tiger33 soundmod thread at SAS.

hum ok thanks i will check that! i aslo have "index out of range" error message but with Tokyo pony club compain upon Kyushu, but i think i'm finding the solution here....something like a Malta patch to install...will see that to.

i'm making tests for Kyushu repaint release

thanks Akdavis

I think the string index out of range may happen if you have changed the static.ini for the Kyushu map - this causes an error if a .mis file has information on damaged buildings that have been removed from the map. The Malta map patch isn't relevant to this.

What do you mean? the map loads without any problem with my moded static.ini, and testers didn't report any kind of problem with the map. i only get this message when loading it with you compain Tokyo Pny including Kyushu map starting with mission 8 if i remember well, not a single problem with Iwo Jima in the same campain, as well as for Hell in the Pacific i liked so much.

you mean a damaged bildings? would be caused by interferences between "my" bildings and your ?? :???:

ohhhh....shit i think i'm starting to understand : i deleted some "bildings" from the stock static as for exemple tree or houses. is it possible that on your missions, these objects are made to be a part of the mission and have to be destroyed for exemple, and as i cancelled them, this make this message "string out of range" appear ???

i'm afraid it's that..........

- that's why i need a template for your missions upon Kyushu to know what i must keep and what not
- or it will need some modifications in your compains to reintegrate these objects into the map in the campain itself

taking this apart the map runs like a charm....

PS: i would be very very disapointed to be unable to play your missions on my map. hope the map will inspire you to create new ones

Redko - it shouldn't matter if the objects I have added are damaged. You will only be unable to load the mission if you remove objects from the static.ini of the original map. This will apply to anybody's missions where they have added damage to the original static.ini - not just mine.

If you keep the original static.ini, you can add what objects you like and still play old missions. However, if you remove objects from the original static.ini there is a danger that old missions will not load.

Understood.
So i will release the map with new static and instructions for those who want to use the default static. Are you planning to bild new campains for this map, the idea would be integrate your compains with a new organisation in matter of harbours installations and city bildings.

the thing is i have to rework the way the map is populated in order to integrate it with the new city textures...If new compains can be done for this "new map" it would be so great. people wanting to use your old missions upon Kyushu should you default static instead...

I think it should be fairly easy to convert the current campaigns to your new map - I'd just need to delete the damage from the .mis file, create some new damage on the new map, and then paste across. Only issue might be where I've placed fire and smoke on existing buildings - they might need to be moved.

Hum ok good news. I thank you to be so open minded, maps and campains should be a common process, specially with your very detailed missions. There is no drastic changes between the stock static and mine as you will see soon : just some useless trees inside cities (doesn't fit with my textures) and some bildings, replaced by new ones from lal_rone's hangar mod...there more houses on my fields instead, that's all.

I will take in consideration you request for the Castle on Okinawa v2 too.

Wow. ive enjoyed Browsing through these pages. Phil.

your Campaigns are fantastic!

would love to see a 'Home Defense' Luftwaffe type campaign. like Intercepting B-17's + B-24 Using the TA-152's Me-262's etc.

Great work ! look forward to your future stuff ! Smile

Cheers Ryan - if one of those nice big Western Europe maps get finished I'll definitely take a look at doing a Home Defence campaign. The Me-163 would be most likely - I've just realised what a fantastic thing it is to fly.
