ADSL barricade and inability to connect - version 2
#1

I reposted this because of an update in the situation, and as such need new advice.

[OLD POST]Well, it finally happened to me... I can't play IL-2 online at my present location... End of world!

I'm behind a 512/512 connection with a SMC "ADSL Barricade SMC7204BRA"

My computer is plugged directly into the barricade, and so is another computer in another location in the house. I've played IL-2 online with this barricade, but with different computers... This time I've brought my normal gaming PC with me, and before you ask, yes, it's the same PC I normally use, and firewalls and antivirus are configured to work with IL-2 as per normal use.

I've tried to open up the ports as I best can, but it seems that something still is amiss, and due to the utility for it being very unintuitive, I can't find anything else that I might have missed...

I'm able to play other games online without any previous adjustment to the router/barricade thing, such as Counterstrike, Empire: Total War, Rise of Flight, just to name a few.

Hope someone has a solution...

Cheers
Arctic [OLD POST END]

Edit:

Time to move this one back to the top...

I found out that there was a second router/adsl barricade (call it what you will) in the house, in a drawer. So I dug it out and plugged it in, it's a SMC7904BRA2 but the same problem persists.

Whenever I go to join a server it just sits there saying "please wait" and then I get the timeout.

The router's built-in firewall, my antivirus and my firewall on the pc are completely turned off, and offcourse the retarded windows default protection software are disabled (Windows defender and windows firewall)

I have a sneaky feeling at this point that it most likely is a problem with my ISP, but if anyone has any suggestions, please go right ahead and post.

I will be calling them tomorrow and inquire wtf is going on, since this has worked before at this location with this router, and since EVERYTHING else works flawlessly...

Lastly, I need to know what ports IL-2 uses for communication inbound and outbound, I know about port 21000, but is that the only one?

I can play on a local network....join a server....but never managed to set up my own internet server. I have a speedtouch adsl modem. Followed every rule and instruction about forwarding ports..etc.. i just did not work. Also disabled firewall and virusscan. So I gave up. Had already a dvd with version 4.08 (It fits on 1 disk) and wanted to take some friends as passengers in my bomber..just to show them the fun of this game. But...it JUST DID NOT WORK..:-((

ArcticViper,

PM me for my phonenumber if you've lost it. I'd be glad to help you out over the phone. Have quite a few tools that could help us track down your issue. Done a lot of ADSL and network R&D work during my time at Ericsson.
