How to change the engine sound of the FW-190 D?
#1

Hello,

I've got a little problem here. I downloaded a Jumo 213 sound for the Dora, but in the game it still uses the old one! (and yes, I got both - the preset and the sound files)
Anyway, where can I change the FW-190 D so it actually uses these new sounds?

Oh, and btw - where do I get good sounds for the MG 151/20? After installing the SFX_06 I can't hear them any more. :???:

Greets,
NBF

Might want to change the title. When I saw it in the box I thought "Someones about to get banned"...

"Someones about to get banned" I don't understand why this comment was made and therefore seek to avoid making the same mistake as the original poster as I don't understand what was said that would might warrant banning this person. Please explain?

He meant that the title of the thread sounded like the poster wanted to change the FM of a default slot plane, which is forbidden, and would result in ban if accomplished, but at first we would just warn the poster and delete the thread, not ban right away.

Anyhow, this thread is about the SOUND of the engine, so stay on topic please.

To change the engine take off every cowling plate and unscrew the bolts.

Edited the title to eliminate confusion as to the direction of the topic as well as moved the topic to a more appropriate forum. This is not a WIP-BETA-MOD download...

@Cnopicilin - don't be a smartarse, it really does no good for anyone

u can select what .wav it will read by editing the .prs file for the jumo engine. it's in the presets folder. make sure the file name is correct?

Uhm, sorry about posting in the wrong forum; I got the sound files from a mod by Paulo Hirth (a pretty old one in the WIP-section)

Anyways, what really confuses me - how does the game know what to do? The Jumo 213.prs file wasn't there before, don't I have to change something in the FW-190 D files to actually USE the new .prs and not the stock one? Or did the game engine take history classes to know exactly which engines were used by which plane? :-?

Not to butt in here, but why don't you give Tiger 33- sound mod a try, everyone's reveing about it.
I got it installed an just want to make you cre#m in your pants when you hear those engines.

Hey, thanks dude!

But, well, this SAS-thing seems pretty complicated to me... is there a way to play online after having installed this thing?

Okay, just GREAT! Now I've un- and reinstalled IL2 3 three times in a row and this thing still doesn't work!! This stupid 4.09m patch ruined the whole installation - and, I guess it's needed for the SAS - installation, right?

Damnit, can someone help me please??
