Patch the game to 4.09m using the official patches

4.09m patch http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=10276

Then apply the HSFX-V4.0 and HSFX 4.1 mod pack ---
V4.0

V4.1

Fixer:

Hi all,

4.11 is out for HSFX - it mainly concerns fixes Charlie found for our current SEOW campaign (and includes all hotfixes previously issued)

http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2097

Quote:This is a small patch, HSFX 4.11, that includes all the previous hotfix's released so far, plus also fix's a problem with some of the ships Damage Model. This is the major component, a recompiled SFS archive that corrects the ships Damage Model, by Maraz's.

It also includes a stable 'expanded' exe which is good for Midway and TheChannel Scorched Earth Campaigns.

This patch is primarily for the SEOW groups.

Okay, my only issue is that 6DoF will not work. I get basic Track IR but no 6 DoF.

I have UI 1.2, and with the 6 DoF Mod in the MODS folder, it works fine.

I use the JSGME activator, choose the 6 DoF, move it to the right, but it wont work. I also tried making it the last Mod activated, so it's the last one shown in the bottom of the right panel. No joy.

I created a MODS folder, put the 6DoF mod from 1.2 into it, deactivated the JSGME version. No 6 DoF. Reactivated the JSGME version. NO 6 DoF.

I also tried Shift+F1 and Ctrl+F1 (the latter changes Cocpit views of-course, but I had to try!) the former...did nothing Sad

I've tried a lot of fault finding. It works in 1.2, but not in 4.1.

Any other ideas?

Cheers, MP.

OK gentlemen I did what the instructions said and still no mods. Is there a folder or some kind of special instructions that you super modders do like switch a folder or change for instance a( . to a -) or an sfs file or something. I can fly, I have 4.09m. What should my start up screen look like, Do I move a folder, please break it down caveman style for me step by step. IS there just one exe file so its simple? Thankyou for all of your efforts and Im not trying to be a pain in the a@!#.
Bottom Line I would just like a caveman stlye clean install from step one with all the little tricks with the folders that you guys do. Thankyou gentlemen for all of your efforts in making this mod possible.

Thanks

Cave MAN 101.
Install to a CLEAN folder -make SURE nothing is left behind. NOTHING
Disk 4.07m. NEXT Install patch 4.08m. Check game to insure it works.
Next install patch 4.09m. Check game to insure it works.
NEXT is the funky part. HSFX V4.0 it comes in TWO parts. Copy both parts to a temp folder.
Click on the fisrt part to start the install - the second part will start AUTOMATIC.
When you start the first part MAKE SURE it has the RIGHT game path to your game.
For some reason it like to write to FORGOTTEN BATTLES. If it does that its WRONG.
After V4.0 installs check your game to make sure it all works. Move some of the MODS in the JSGME to the right hand side
in the JSGME that makes them active.
Next install HSFX V 4.1 MAKE sure of the game path. Here again check game to insure it works.

The JSGME in located inside the game folder copy it to your desk top so it will be right in front of you to use.
Have the History mod active and test with it.Also move all the mops to the left and make STOCK 4.09 active
to insure the stock game works.

I would have to ask - HOW did you make your install?????
Was the Game folder CLEAN ? No mods or any thing else left BEHIND???
Did you add any thing else after the HSFX install ???

Mr Skyomish I followed your directions to the letter. I uninstalled IL2, cleaned everything that had IL2 associated with it deleted installed folders etc.. I installed new 4.07 and then 4.08m checked it and then 4.09m and then checked it. Everything worked fine. I installed HSFX 4.0 checked it and it worked fine.I installed HSFX 4.1 worked fine : NOTE mods do not work. I copied and put the jsgmemods folder on my desk top and also copied the Generic mod enabler folder to my desk top. I enabled the history mod and ran the game. The game works and says 4.09m and TEAM DIADLOS in blue in the bottom left hand corner, but no mods are seen in the quick start menu all the original aircraft from 1946 are there with the history mod or any other mod enabled. Any suggestions?

Cave man explanation;
Go into the game's folder and right click on the yellow icon called JSGME. Select "send shortcut to desktop". Do the same with the Il2fb.exe icon.
Go back to your desktop and double-click on your new JSGME shortcut- this will open a window with two sections, left and right. Click on the Hsfx history mod and click the little arrow in the middle of the widow that points to the right. The Hsfx history mod should now be in the right column. Exit JSGME and start the game by double-clicking your new Il2fb.exe shortcut. The game should now load with a new splashscreen showing some photos, a clipboard, and a cup of coffee. The lower left screen should read "Forgotten Battles 4.09" and just to the right of that "HSFX History Mod 4.1"
If this happens, you're now alright, you just have to experiment with the different mods featured in JSGME.

Ok guys I uninstalled again, I have no ubisoft or iL2 folders left I am clean. Before I do this again, I am going to give you guys my step by step cave man install. You let me know if it is correct before I install.
1. Put IL2 1946 disc in drive.
2. Install exe file.
3. Patch to 4.08m, check game run it.
4. Patch to 4.09m, check game run it.
5. Install HSFX 4.0 to ubisoft folder(let me know if this is correct path) The second exe installs itself
6. Make a short cut of the yellow JSGME enabler and a short cut of IL2 exe on desk top and put the history mod in and run the game and see if you have mods.
7. Install HSFX 4.1
8. Instal the fixer.
What folder should I put the HSFX 4.0 into on initial; install?

Thank You guys for all of your help!

I could use some pointers myself on this as I have been out of the loop for about 3 years. I have no problems installing either IL2 1946 and patching nor with the installation of HSFX. However, all I get is 4.09m - no HSFX mods even after loading the mod to the right in JSMGE.

Think my problem has to do with the folder structure I ended up with:

IL2 1946 is in:
F:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946

while HSFX is in an entirely different folder:
F:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles

I didn't change anything other than the drive to F: when I installed - this is how it turned out. Is this correct?

How do I manually straighten out this problem. Not sure if I should dump everything (or just some files) into one main folder or another.

Thanks!

Hey Nicholas,

Providing you don't have the whole game "Forgotten Battles" installed seperately to your "IL-2 1946", just copy the contents of your "IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles" folder into your "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946" folder. That should just about do it Smile

OC77, don't install HSFX to the Ubisoft folder. Install it to the folder INSIDE the ubisoft folder, the one called Il2 1946. Otherwise your method looks OK.
