Hello everyone, I just got IL-2 back today and I patched it to 4.09m ; I am now downloading the hsfx 4.0 and 4.1 mods but I have a little question because I don't remember, what should I do in my config file in the opengl section to get perfect mode with the best visuals?
Also, when I install the hsfx mods, do I have to change something in the conf.ini to get the game work, or i should leave it in perfect mode and from the launcher enable all the high quality mods and everything will be ok? Because I remember that in a effects mod, we had to put effects =1 instead of 2 to make the mod work. Thanks very much

For OpenGL, you can go to:
water=4
or, if your rig can handle it...
water=5
( DirectX only does water=3 until DirectX 11 workaround is found. )
Make sure Hardware Setup in your IL-2 interface has the perfect settings in the sim.

Obviously, we go by the information that we read here and elsewhere. Several guys have claimed water=5.
Frankly, I am skeptical, too, but enough guys posted about it for me to report it.
With water=4, a guy can see the reef mod, extra wave reflection, shallows, and-when your plane is flying over it-what seems to be wave action.
If a guy had a powerful enough computer, enough time, plenty of money, and was a genius coder, he certainly could make water=5, in my opinion. The things that seemed impossible a short time ago are reality now. :wink:
Man I've looked everywhere for some sort of hack to enable bloom/water 4/HDR in IL2 using ATI. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
