Hey guys,
al little question here - I recently tried to reinstall IL2 1946, but to my surprise, it seems that the installer doesn't create a executable any more...! O_o
I've got no idea why! Plus - I can't change anything in the conf.ini! It just tells me "access" denied! Wtf?
Can anybody help me please? =(

Sounds like you're using Vista and UAC is turned on and/or your security settings are set extremely high to prevent changes to files by you.
ie. It's not your computer and your folks don't want you messing around with it.

Excuse me to destroy your prophecies, but I'm living alone at a dorm and it's MY laptop. It's got Windows 7, and just yesterday I changed everything in the conf.ini without any problems, hell, 2 days ago I installed the whole thing without any problems!
I just wanted to install the 4.09m patch, but it messed my install up cause I already had installed some mods, obviously. So after having deinstalled the whole thing, it wouldn't let me do this again properly.
How could it be that a il2fb.exe isn't created by the installer??

there are "modded" .exe's that you could replace it with anyways. just use one of those.
