Skins for IL2 1946 are compatible with skins of the same aircraft in earlier versions of IL2, so long as you put the right skins in the right folders you're good to go.

Yeah, I have been doing that.
It's just there are SO MANY planes I've never heard of on this site. It would be brilliant if I could get more compatible with my version.

Make a request for some of the skins that you would like to have. There are many talented skinners who would probably help you out with your request.
