USN/USMC/USAAF Cockpits
#1

I would like to know how to go about getting started editing cockpits and what applications are necessary to edit the various files associated with cockpits and gun sights.

The area that most concerns me is the gunsights that were part of a WIP-BETA MOD embedded into the hsfx history mod. For USN/USMC aircraft the author of this mod edited the .msh, .mat, .him & .tga files. When I enable the Defualt Reticles mod I still get the N3 gunsight reticle instead of the Mk8 in the F4U-1 and Corsair MkI (got this fixed) and I get no gun sight reticle for the P-400, P-39D 1 & 2 or the P-39N-1.

Second issue is that some of the newly repainted cockpits that are installed with the history hsfx mod have pin-ups in various locations in the cockpit that I would like to get rid of.

Lastly the mirror that was part of the P-40C is missing with the hsfx history mod.

I want to be able to use the mods and the hsfx history mod is required to be activated to use them. Since the cockpit and gunsights of the stock aircraft were were changed and made the default cockpits and sights the only way to override them is to create cockpit files and place them into the MODS folder.

I know how to and have the application to edit skins, but have no clue on what to do with cockpits and the internals.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can give me.

Thanks that will be appreciated, but to what squad forum would you be referring?

Do you mean FA, because I am not a member of any squad that flies in this game?

How about telling people where you moved this Topic instead of just proclaiming that it has been moved. The thread was started in March, what changed to to warrant this being moved?
