Refuel/Rearm/Repair with Zuti MDS v1.01
#1

I'm having trouble getting the refuel/repair/rearm function in zuti MDS v1.01 to work. I placed objects similar to those in the readme within the home base circle of an airbase, but it says i cannot R/R/R there when i park nearby with chocks in.

[quote]Rearm/Refuel window will allow you to set up parameters for rearming, refueling and repairing. You can select how long does it take to reload/repair ONE weapon (for repairing only MGs/Cannons jamming is supported) and if separate task will be available ONLY if dedicated objects exist on the airport.

Rearming objects must contain this string in their name:

The names only appear in the .mis file, viewed in Windows Notepad.

For example:

Object 68, the fuel barrels
Object 834, the ammo boxes
Object 737, the workshop

appear in the .mis file like this:

[Buildings]
0_bld House$AirdromeBarrelBlock1 1 147621.36 219031.46 360.00
1_bld House$46GRBoxload 1 147605.37 219018.58 360.00
2_bld House$3Duby_Workshop 1 147584.80 219008.40 680.00

For R/R/R to work, you also need to set friction value under Home Base object properties, "Enable Friction for this HomeBase:", and set a value. (default is 3.8 )

i may be an idiot but im afraid i cant figure out how to do the friction setting. can you post an example of what you have in one of your .mis files? if i see an example i can figure it out. the MDS readme isnt helping me. thanks for the info about the objects though!

Are u trying to do this in Singalplayer ?

if so it wont work even i placed those above mentioned objects.the only thing u can do is untick those check boxes in R/R/R.(believe me i have tried so hard to but was unsuccessful.)

perhaps it might work in online play but i dont know about that.

Apologies...I was reading from the v1.12 Readme, where setting Home Base friction is done in the FMB. In v1.01, you have to do manually.
I'll paste the relevant parts: (New Guinea map, by the way)

[MDS]
ZutiReload_OneMgCannonRearmSecond 10
ZutiReload_OneBombFTankTorpedoeRearmSeconds 25
ZutiReload_OneRocketRearmSeconds 20
ZutiReload_GallonsLitersPerSecond 3
ZutiReload_OneWeaponRepairSeconds 3
ZutiReload_FlapsRepairSeconds 30
ZutiReload_ReloadOnlyIfFuelTanksExist 1
ZutiReload_ReloadOnlyIfAmmoBoxesExist 1
ZutiReload_RepairOnlyIfWorkshopExist 1
[Buildings]
0_bld House$AirdromeBarrelBlock1 1 147621.36 219031.46 360.00
1_bld House$46GRBoxload 1 147605.37 219018.58 360.00
2_bld House$3Duby_Workshop 1 147584.80 219008.40 680.00
[BornPlace]
1 3000 147269 219181 1 1000 200 0 0 1 0 5000 50 0
[AlternativeAirfield]
144269 222181 150269 216181 2.45

Everything there is generated in the FMB, except for the last section, which was added by hand in Windows Notepad. The Readme refers to using the Friction Tool, but it's easy enough to hack with Notepad. It is the X,Y coordinates describing a rectangle, and a friction value to apply to that rectangle. The coordinates are represented as X1 Y1 X2 Y2 Fv, where X1,Y1 is the upper left corner, X2,Y2 is the lower right corner of the rectangle, and Fv is the friction value.

[BornPlace] is your Home Base, 3000 is the default Home Base radius, and the next two values are the X,Y coordinates of the centre point. To keep it simple, I just added and subtracted 3000 from each of those values to get the X1,Y1 X2,Y2 coordinates of my friction rectangle, which is a 6000 x 6000 square centred on the Home Base.

This works in Multiplayer, by creating a dogfight server, but I haven't tried it as a Single Player mission.

Added:

ZUTI 1.01 is R/R/U - Rearm/Refuel/Unjam

ZUTI 1.1 is R/R/R - Rearm/Refuel/Repair

Slight but big difference.

The process identified by 8FS_Bulau is great for establishing 'forward' or 'emergency' airfields on open, flat terrain and on road sections. It can be used for C-47 medivac flights just behind the forward line of advance and quick fighter and gattack support of advancing troops.
