OK, SO my friend got the downloadable version of the game. and i got the patch for him for the downloadable version allowing to run hsfx. he got 4.08 4.09 and 4.08 ran but he said he didnt know if 4.09 was running. but he got HSFX 4.0 installed i tried to run it the game wouldnt start , i disabled history mod it still wouldn't start.

So i have decided that i am not much help, and also is HSFX good for online? because last time i treid to go online it wouldn't work and i am always running 4.09. is there any switchers?
or anything to go online using HSFX? or will the skies of fire pack fix it?

Yes, HSFX is good for online. A bunch of servers are based on it, especially in HyperLobby, and the leaders of the biggest IL-2 modding communities agreed that this would be the case. ( Long pause to catch my breath ) You should at least get HSFX 4.1

Here is the HSFX 4.1 formula:

Patch IL-2 to 4.08 or aquire the 4.08 digital download + Add the patch for the digital download version of 4.08, if this applies to you. + Official 4.09m patch + HSFX 4.0 + HSFX 4.1 ( Plus future add-ons as they become accepted by online mission servers )

Here is a help post for the UI that I made-but the basics apply to all mod packs...Look about half way down the page of the link for my post named: "Mods Download Help Here..."

Pay particular attention to the instruction about scanning each download for malware and testing each download for corrupt files. DO NOT MIX Unified Installer (UI) DOWNLOADS WITH HSFX! NOT NOT NOT!

The HSFX 4.1 contains almost all UI 1.1., UI 1.2, UI 1.2.5, SAS mods, SFX mods, and a bunch of other goodies. You get these in the HSFX 4.1 download included.

In other words, follow the formula for HSFX 4.1 that I underlined in orange and you will get all of this.

Enjoy the gigantic, huge, humungus collection of mods and extras once you get it together.

"Your problem may be two dll's that get overwritten on the 409 patch, they're called mg_snd.dll and mg_snd_sse.dll. Back them up from a 408 install and just shove them back in after applying the 409 patch. The new ones don't like older sound cards."

SO you are saying. patch to 4.08, patch tp 4.09 install patch for downloaded version install hsfx 4.0 instal 4.1?

Is there any how to guide? because i cant remember how i installed mine, all i rememebr was reinstalling il2, patching to 4.08 and 4.09, and installing the hsfx pack

Here again is the build formula for the HSFX 4.1 in order, but in a different presentation than my previous post:

Steps:

1st) Patch IL-2 to 4.08, or get the 4.08 digital download (which you have, Hawker).

2nd) Add the patch for digital download to the 4.08 digital download, if needed-and you do, Hawker, in your case.

3rd) Add the official 4.09m patch.

4th) Add the HSFX 4.0 Add-on.

5th) Add the HSFX 4.1 Add-on.

Remember that the instructions at the UltraPack website supercede all else.
