Have you tried with full graphics, water=4 with nVidia or water=2 with ATI from conf.ini?
The default water are reflective and 3D with random white caps if running at perfect.

5 will not work. I do not know how many times this has been stated.

Water=5 will work in the next update of Team Daidalos.
You will see sharks then in Pacific and wales on Arctic map.
