The 109s used by the IAF were actually a sort of hybrid version. They used a Messerschmidt airframe combined with a Junkers Jumo engine meant to be used in bomber aircraft. They were license-built in Czechoslovakia. This should really be done as a new aircraft with new modeling for the engine and new FM.

If memory serves, the Czech air force used the S-99 to start with, which was basically a 109 copy. The 199 came about due to a shortage of DB-605 engines, so they modified the remaining uncompleted airframes w/ the Junkers Jumo used on the HE-111.These were then sold to the Israeli air force, who were desperate for aircraft. The 199's flight characteristics (particularly on takeoff and landing) were total crap, because the Jumo engine had more torque than the DB-605, which was exacerbated by the fact that the landing gear had to be modified as well to fit the engine. They were placed farther back and were vertical, which resulted in a lot of flips.

Now as you mention, my old czecho-slovakian KP or KM(?) plastic model had two different type of canopy to choose. One was a so called Galland-hood (hinged to the right) and one was a quite "fat" bubbled canopy, like the P-51B/C Mustangs Malcolm hood.

Although what I saw original(?) Israely Avias exhibited in Israel (from pictures, I never was there actually) they all have the hinged Galland-hood.

Here's a quickie set ... there's a noticeable difference in the nose and spinner between the profile and the template. But I'm not a particularly big fan of the Bf-109 and don't know that much about the templates that are available. I looked through all those I have and none seemed to feature an extended nose and spinner.

But this is at least an approximation.

btw- in the pic above, the unit insignia is not in the scene. It is however included in the download skins.
