When i start IL-2 (even unmodded), you can't move the mouse or whatever, but when i tab down to the desktop screen, and tab back up it works again, but when i don't do this in like 2 seconds the game will quit by itself, no error, nothing, i need to restart the game then, and try to tab the game from desktop and quickly select it again to get the mouse moving, or it just quits :-?

does anyone know what this kind of problem is and how to fix it?

Welcome To AAA!

I had that exact same problem when I first got Il-2 1946 but I can't remeber how I got rid of it. Maybe if you go into your root folder and fiddle with some of the Setting for display and Video Card etc then it might fix it. Other than that my only guess that could also fix it is updating your game to the latest 4.09 Patch. You must Install the next patch after next patch eg, 4.07->4.08->4.09 in order like that for it to work.

Do you have any mods so far?, just asking...

try conl. alt.delete do not shut down the game
opin the game form the task bar and see if that works
if you have il2 on the task bar after il2 opins turn that on off be for you use conl.alt.dlete

That happens to me too. I don't mind it anymore, I just click, press the windows key and open the screen again. You'll get used to...

I remembered how I fixed it!

When you start up Il-2 DON'T CLICK/TOUCH ANYTHING! and it should work fine.

I patched it to the latest update already (4.09m) and I play the game on windows xp, I have a lot of mods equipped (fx revolution etc.), one thing i forgot to mention was that i can't tab down normally with alt+tab, the game automatically reactivates itself, not letting me get to my desktopscreen (bureaublad), i need to press de windows button(next to 'Alt') in order to be able to tab down, but then I still get the same fault

I already told you how to fix it in my above post and if that doesn't work well you should have no other programs opened up in windows and when you click on the play icon(on your desktop) then you click on the screen in a blank spot so that nothing is even selected.

Another way to fix this problem very easily is to just change your screen resolution to what the game opens up in (eg. Mine opens up in 1024x768) and it will work fine and you must also do this when you play online in hyperlobby otherwise you may accidentally quit the match.
