What does "fb+aep+pf" mean?
#1

Sorry I am new to this but there is a campaign I want to play and the instructions say

"Copy the "JF1" folder into the "Missions/Campaigns/De" folder of your FB+AEP+PF installation."

What do those abvreviations stand for and how do I get them? I have ultrapack 2.0 installed.

FB = Forgotten Battles
AEP = Aces Expansion Pack
PF = Pacific Fighters.

Each one was a separate expansion, all of which are included in the Il-2 1946 version.

FB+AEP+PF also represent the game in its early CD versions. This where the "m" comes from, meaning merged.
These were from UBISOFT, and others from 3rd party did exist like one that brought the fighting to western europe,
or another like OSFRONT, I think.

They took the most of a day to install (with all their patchs, an average of 4 per CDs), with add-ons, most of an entire weekend.

Around dec2006,jan2007, a DVD release of ALL in one(products from Ubi.) occured. On top of that, it
featured futher releases from the russian designers, like Manchuria, PE2 and more. The IL2 1946 was born.
The DVD takes only an hour to install and needs only one official patch, up to 4,08m;
this was true until advent of the community 4,09m official version.

So FB+AEP+PF does not bring you to the level of 1946. You are at 4,04m (4,00m+4patchs) instead of 4,07m.
