Distance sound mod gets my vote. Tiger33 has great sound but it is pre recorded, meaning that if you do a fly by at a slower speed than it was intended, it will go out sync.

I have both mixed together,best sound I ever had in game.

For me it's Jafa sounds together with Cipher's Realistic P 38 sounds and Anto's New Tempest sounds.

Still wondering how you did that m8 Big Grin

I, attempted, to merge the DSM with Jafa's sounds- but my gun's are barely audible when in the cockpit which I don't like. This was my main gripe with Tiger's sounds as well.

Got DSM mixed with T_33's soundmod and apart from a few minor console errors (on loading sounds) it's running smooth.

To quote Gumpy; best sound I ever had in game.

Period.

The key was to install DSM first, then add T_33's mod to it (making backups of presets&samples folders first!)
I'm not running T_33's flyby's by the way, they are great but not dynamic enough for me to like them.

So is it in one folder in your mods folder? Which parts of Tiger's mod did you copy over? Just the samples and presets folder and if so, which files did you choose to copy over? Wink

Ok, sober once again, after a good night sleep, here is what i've done to get it going. Tongue
Batchelor parties and IL2 configuration settings don't mix up too well :lol:

Based upon a UP2.0(n) installation, but I guess it should work for any given install.

1: Distant sounds mod by RedBatFlight:
- I used the Presets and Samples folders only!
- They went into a folder inside my MODS folder.
(you pick the name of the folder ofcourse Wink - I called it "0_A_DSM_Eng"

To ensure it gets loaded over all other soundmods.

2: Tiger_33's soundmod UV2 Final:
- made a backup of my Files folder

then:
- Presets and Samples folder from T_33 into my IL2 Files folder
- Preload file from T_33 into Files folder

note: don't know if I also copied T_33's buttons file, but I assume not.

3: Made a backup of Conf.ini just to be safe.

4: Opened up Conf.ini
Adjusted the values under [sound] to match RBF's settings from his read me file.
Code:
SoundUse=1
SoundEngine=1
Speakers=0
Placement=0
SoundFlags.reversestereo=0
RadioFlags.Enabled=1
RadioEngine=2
MusicVolume=8
ObjectVolume=14
MusState.takeoff=0
MusState.inflight=0
MusState.crash=0
MusFlags.play=0
MasterVolume=14
Attenuation=7
SoundMode=0
SamplingRate=2
NumChannels=2
SoundExt.occlusions=0
SoundFlags.hardware=1
SoundFlags.streams=1
SoundFlags.duplex=1
SoundExt.acoustics=0
SoundExt.volumefx=0
SoundFlags.voicemgr=0
SoundFlags.static=1
VoiceVolume=8
Channels=2
SoundExt.extrender=0
SoundFlags.bugscorrect=0
SoundSetupId=2
ActivationLevel=0.02
Preemphasis=0.85
RadioLatency=0.5
AGC=1
PTTMode=1
SoundFlags.UseRadioChatter=0
SoundFlags.AutoActivation=0
RadioFlags.PTTMode=0
RadioFlags.PlayClicks=0
ActLevel=0
MicLevel=0
SoundFlags.forceEAX1=0

Afterwards I adjusted the soundvolumes for music, cockpit etc manually, but it's all about his sound-engine settings

another note: this install gives only a few console errors with sounds, but I have not noticed any abscense of sounds or any problems at all ingame.
If the above soundsetup gives problems, then try my own current (adjusted) settings:
Code:
SoundUse=1
SoundEngine=1
Speakers=0
Placement=0
SoundFlags.reversestereo=0
RadioFlags.Enabled=1
RadioEngine=2
MusicVolume=2
ObjectVolume=11
MusState.takeoff=0
MusState.inflight=0
MusState.crash=0
MusFlags.play=0
MasterVolume=7
Attenuation=7
SoundMode=0
SamplingRate=1
NumChannels=3
SoundExt.occlusions=0
SoundFlags.hardware=0
SoundFlags.streams=1
SoundFlags.duplex=1
SoundExt.acoustics=0
SoundExt.volumefx=0
SoundFlags.voicemgr=0
SoundFlags.static=1
VoiceVolume=6
Channels=2
SoundExt.extrender=0
SoundFlags.bugscorrect=0
SoundSetupId=8
ActivationLevel=0.02
Preemphasis=0.85
RadioLatency=0.5
AGC=1
PTTMode=1
SoundFlags.UseRadioChatter=0
SoundFlags.AutoActivation=0
RadioFlags.PTTMode=0
RadioFlags.PlayClicks=0
ActLevel=0
MicLevel=0
SoundFlags.forceEAX1=0

5: Done..
I cannot tell if this is a 100% correct working and fully merged RBF&T_33 soundset, but atleast it works for me and it's the best sound i've ever had so far. Wink
If anyone has any corrections and/or additions to the above, please fill me in. Smile

And no, I'm not the one who's going to get married. :lol:

Just did this and guess what?

Both cannons and machineguns are happily thundering through my headset in harmony with the engine sound. Wink
Tried 4 different Mk Vb models;
the 1941, the 1943 CW, 12lbs boost and 18lbs boost versions, all the same.

Anymore requests? Wink :lol:
