Hey, I know for a fact that the F-80 had a radar guided gunsight, that would advise you where to fire. Is it there and Im not using it somehow? also I read somthing about Gyro Sights? does anybody have a laymans explaination of the Gyro Sights, is it just that my computer is special and my searches dont give me results?
Don't blame your PC.
Why don't to try to write this on google "gyro gunsight".
And if you want a more detailed explanation, brush up on your high school physics (should be enough to understand gyros and newtonian relativity).
Hey, Polkovnik Kirov. I believe the 'Bombsight Automation' key enables Gyro Gunsights for the planes that have it. Hope that helps.
Think this MOD only works for the YP-80A not the F-80C (unless I've set it up wrong?). But it is a pretty cool MOD. Also works as an IFF interogator (ish!). It would be nice to see this MOD extended to ALL the US Jets.
Thanks to all the MOD'rs who add so much more to this great game.
Hi Kirov,
The P-80 and the P-51 use the same K-14 "acemaker" gunsight which uses a gyro to help the pilot aim. You will need to bind some keys to the bombsight controls. Bombsight automation changes the sight from a fixed ring to gyro with six points. You can also adjust the size of the points based on wingspan. Some presets are Bf-109, FW-190, Do-217 etc. Changing the distance of the sight also changes its size.
So, if you are in a P-51 and spot a Bf-109, set your sight to "Bf-109" and adjust the distance to get his wingtips to fit inside your sight, or wait to get close enough so his wingtips fit, and then fire away!
The radar in the P-80 makes things easier because it adjusts the distance automatically. Just select wingspan based on your target. This is not modeled in the game however.
