Still problems saving campaign missions
#1

Was wondering why I can't save a mission in campaigns. I'm pretty sure my static.ini is as up to date as are my maps, but when i play a campaign misssion it won't save it, so can't move on to next one, and it's getting boring playing single missions only.

I don't use HSFX or the later stuff, too big a download for me on dialup, in fact I'm still using 4.08m, all my planes I've downloaded work, also most of the maps I've downloaded.

Have searched through pages of stuff on this site with no luck.

Maybe someone who uses one of the later mods might be kind enough to list their Static.ini here, so I could try that out, I've exhausted most other ways to fix this, apart from starting from scratch AGAIN.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

A folder needs to be created by you in the IL-2 folder. Look for "Missions" folder in the main IL-2 registry of folders and files. Follow the file path to the Campaign folder. Next open the appropriate nationality and make a folder there and name it according to your liking ( Example name of folder: RAF_Normandy. Short names are best. ) Remember to designate one aeroplane as a Player aircraft in order for all the functions to work.

Full Mission Builder Website

Here's a link to a great website which specializes in teaching the Full Mission Builder
http://www.il2-fullmissionbuilder.com/index.php

You can also make Single missions in just a few minutes by learning how to handle the all.ini file. I have made very exciting ones in as little as fifteen minutes! Now that we have over 400 flyable planes and dozens of maps, the possibilities are practically endless. Smile

Remember that you can learn much by examining the already existing missions and campaigns by looking at the folders and files of them.

As you get better at it, you will be able to make missions, Quick missions, Single missions, Campaigns, and Careers. Big Grin

Having a mission save during campaign play has nothing to do with your static.ini
The static.ini is for adding object mods to your install.
If in FMB and "building a mission" and you can not save ,then it is iether a missing object not installed, info wrong or missing ete
but it has to do with building a mission in FMB and not being able to save the .mis file

If you are not advancing in your Campaign, then your Campaign settings are not allowing you to advance.
There is a Manual.pdf inside your root folder of IL-2,it is the instruction manual on how to play the game.

You may just not be successfully completing your mission Goals, that would prevent you from moving on to the next mission.

You could start a campaign and then go into "Difficulty" and click "next" in lower right corner,up top on right is "No instant success"
Toggle the light off,now you will advance mission to mission in the campaign with out having to successfully complete the mission goals.

Hi Guys,

You are misunderstanding me. I mean that I am playing campaigns, with the difficulty set so it should continue if I'm killed etc, but even when I complete one or even up to 6 or 7 missions into the campaign, then leave, when I return to pilot career, it still has 0 missions completed, if it was a new campaign, or has not increased the number of missions from where I entered an older partly played campaign. Hope that is a bit clearer.

By the way, I have already made and released 3 campaigns. 2 set in WW1, and 1 for ME-410.

Thanks for your help

I didn't misunderstand you at all, this is why I explained it had nothing to do with your static.ini
and I realize you are "playing a campaign" and is why I mentioned your difficulty settings

I don't know why your actual Careers are not saving

I had the same problem you are having. It never was fixed, until I did the Ultra Pack 2.0n thing. Now everything saves as it should, as well as a lot of other stuff seeming to be kinda better. By the way, my problems seemed to come from campaigns that used Canon's excellent new channel maps (FighterBoys, etc).

Sorry I haven't answered any of your replies, but I suffered a stroke the morning after I posted my question, and have only just got out of hospital, so I'll now be a total noob till I get some movement back in my left hand, campaigns are out. Thanlks for your replies though.
