There's no such mod. You can use some quick mission generator program for it.
No idea about this but is not posible to use a formaton like in the armor or vehicles?

DCG already spawns more planes then any computer (even the most extream gaming pc) can run. The IL-2 programming is not made for such large formations. If you can run a 150 to 200 plane mission then you have a $2000 pc, and it still wont run smoothly. Your just going to have to face it, this is the best this game is going to get. Thats why we are all waiting for SOW to get here. IL-2 has been pushed so far the it doesn't even resemble the original game. For massive bomber fights, load DCG set to Full on the # of flights and I bet you can't run the normandy campain. Is spawns in with like 30 bombers and 30 fighters just for the allied side. I have a quad core with SLI 260's and its hard for me to play. Unless you have a i7 extream w/ quad 480gtx's, dont even bother making missions with that many planes. Remember, it's not really the pc anymore, we have hit the limit of the IL-2 program.

I did not talk about FMB. Google for some quick mission generators. They are able to make huge formations AFAIK.
Yes mate, I know what you mean.. at the moment, if you want a large box formation of bombers, you have to make waypoints for each individual flight and it can be a pain.
It would be far easier to have say at least a squadron based formation, then you would have far less waypoints to input, plus it wouldn't 'clutter' the fmb map, which can be a nuisance too..

I agree with Davis about the limits of the simulation, especially mods loaded features.
For a bomber lover who wants to add more of them at any reasonable cost, then there are options.
Possibilities:
1) Set some bombers to Empty ( no bombs or ammunition). Fewer gunners shooting increases performance, thus allowing more bombers.
2) Use a much higher altitude. The farther from the ground, generally the better the performance, which allows adding more bombers.
3) Temporary reduction of many graphics settings, such as 3D Gunners in the conf.ini file, will improve performance and result in more bombers allowed. Making two different Control Panel Program Profiles, one for bombers with reduced graphics settings, will make this transition quick.
4) Spread the flight of bombers farther from one another and at various altitudes. The closer they are, then the more hit against performance.
5) Increase the distance from the viewer to the bombers.
6) Increase the speed of all aircraft if you wish to record the battle. This makes for smoother recording track when played a bit slower while recording the track with Fraps or other recording device.
I have had about 30 bombers in a formation with no problem using the above techniques. For only screen captures, I once had 48 four engine bombers in a formation using the Full Mission Builder.

Fireskull - I think there is no performance problem about running in formation at least 12 aircrafts (bombers or fighters). The problem is that you can set maximum 4 aircrafts in one flight. My idea is to beg one of the modders to make a mod for FMB which could add possibility to set flight contains more than 4 aircrafts (8, 12, 24 etc)
Ok, so how you are making combat box formation for B-17 or other bombers and keep them together in turning waypoints ?
