Well, guys, I was over at SAS and someone posted this pic talking about the F-86's FM

And I posted this in response. It's basically a call for more load outs on the F-86

Those are also a different style of tank, other than the classic elongated oval. They almost look like Tiny Tims without fins. I was told by an old F-86 ace that you could sling really anything under those wings as far as tanks and bombs go. So long as it didn't exceed the weight limits. I know it could also carry rockets. In the Wings Over series, load outs were determined by weight and if the weapon could be fitted to the type of pylon the aircraft had. You could also attach pylon adapters to carry a wider range of ordinance. When I was fitting an F-86, I had a damn long scroll bar filled with rockets, bombs, leaflets, and everything in between.

I say some new load outs and weapons for the F-86 are in order...

Would you be able to direct me to that thread please? ... I've tried finding it over there but can't for the life of me locate it ...

I'd be keen to follow it & see if anything develops with any change to the 86's load outs .... being a ground pounder my imaginations running away thinking about taking this low & fast with more than a couple of 1000-lbers under the wings :wink:

My thread at SAS concerns the fact that the empty wing pylons on the F-86 cause drag, even though they never existed as the pylons were build on the droptank, not the wing. I agree that the F-86, especially the F can use new loadouts, but I think such a discussion deserves its own thread.
