It seems that it was not too many years ago there was a program that modified the controls so that you could assign one key stroke to open the radiator and another to move the radiator door closed. Is it still around???

I think it is the "Bombay Doors Mod"
No I don't think it is because he did say Radiator not BombBay. If you press "R" I think then it cycles through Radiatior position settings. Check your controls.
