[SKIN] Uffz Karl Wolff August 1940
#1

Hello Planemad here,

Well you'll know all my Skin have been rubbish, the less said the better...

Well FINAL I have worked out how to Blur and blend colours on GIMP 2.6 Big Grin

And As a PROUD Flypast reader in this months issue (July 2010) in the roundel section it is about the BF 109E-3 BoB colour schemes. And I saw Yellow 15 flow by Uffz Karl Wolff, well putting my new skins making knowledge to the test I decided to make his SKIN Big Grin

Well here it is...

This is the Scheme he he used in the Battle of Britain until he crashed near Calais August 30th 1940

Well I don't know if I shall put it on M4T, Shall I?

Well tell me what you think of it Big Grin

Oh and here is the Issue Front Cover...

It is at the Bottom...

Well So shall I put it on M4T or NOT?

Oh and give so positive feedback so I can Improve my future work,

Thank you

Plane Mad, tell you some thing now. Ever since I've tried to skin using Photoshop. I always found it hard. Ever since I used GIMP. It's what I'll always use. GIMP for skins, Photoshop for my artwork Big Grin

Apart from that, Very nice skin there chum Wink

EDIT: You should post it too, I dare you!

Seeing you are moving on to more and more historical skins I will put my hat in with a few notes.

The mottle on this aircraft is well done, Jg52 Emils often wore this type of mottle
The colours too are ok though I would ad more blue to your RLM 65

Jagdwaffe Battle of Britian Vol 3 sec 3 page 244 has these pictures

Looking at photos

The spinner is half black half white
The 15 isnt edged in black its the camo stopped short of over spraying the number so it will be clear 65 'edging' but far from a clean edge, and is smaller than you currently have
The runner boar on the nose is lower than currently positioned
the wing camo is standard for a Battle of Britain era 109E not what you have made up here

Not a bad skin though you made it with what you had on hand so kudos for that Smile

First the LINK is up Big Grin
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...290#322290

Secondly
This is the FIRST real skin I have ever done!
I could only see the Left side on the Plane
I could only see the spinner as one colour from the left side
AND I had to guess the top wing colours and PATTERN
(I am not shouting but thanks for the BoB E-1 E-4 E-4 and E-7 Type 5 pattern)

Right...
Only just fingered out how to use GIMP Properly mainly the Blur and Blending like I said above

Thanks Phas3e for you useful Feedback (Not being sarcastic)

As I said kudos for working with what you had.

Thats the one thing about a historical skin, its probably 80-90% book work the rest is the skin.
If you dont feel you have enough info on hand just ask, many of the people here and on other skinning sites have vast libraries of information and experiance they can help with.

IMO its best when you are starting out to post shots first before uploading the skin itself, there may be a number of changes you can make before the final version is ready.

keep it up you will improve Smile
