UP (HSFX as well) dynamic campaing screws me over every time
#1

Salute all,

When I play any German campaign with HSFX/UP (I've tried both) after several missions (after I've scored a couple dozen kills Big Grin) the campaign generator puts me in front of a fuel reservoir at ca. 300 kph directly after the mission starts. Has anyone had that problem? Has anyone solved it?

Seriously, even when I enable instant success, there's not enough time to press [esc] and escape the inevitable (sometimes I manage that, but even then about half of my squad dies anyway)

Has anyone come across that? Any help would be very much appreciated. I've lost all hope and I'm just waiting for SoW to come out; otherwise I suppose I'll just go back to CFS2

Cheers,

gaeliel

as far as i can remember an airstart in dgen is very rare so i never had this problem

is takeoff&landing turned on in the difficulty settings?

Well, the mission is not supposed to start in the air - and yes, takeoff & landing are turned on. It's just that the mission puts me in front of a fuel reservoir or another plane from my flight at a very high speed and I can't do anything - I just crash and can't continue the campaign.

Cheers for the response anyway!

Please give us a little more info .

Like What game are you using?? UP or HSFX-- Version?

How did you make your install???

What Mods are active in the JSGME???

Have you added anything other then the MOD pack. Extra stuff by hand???

This happens in both HSFX 4.11 and UP 2.0

As far I remember, I installed the stock IL2 1946, then 4.09 patch with skins, and then UP/HSFX

The active mods are the history mod, Tiger's soundmod, ecran wide, MDS 1.0, adv. engine management, atmosphere mod 3.1, perfect map textures, HG&P uranium effects and Boelcke's additional campaigns

I've added the soundmod

+I'm using Windows 7 64bit, if that changes anything.

Thanks for help!

You installed the UP pack correct?? Then added others after that.
I think I have read where folks have had problems with the TIGER Sound mod.
I dont know but a way to start is to DISABLE the added mods one at a time until
you find the one the is the trouble maker.

Place a { - } in front of each mod one at a time and see. cant hurt.

Is that required for dgen? If not, disable it.
If so, what about using latest/later version?

Is there any way to edit the generated mission prior to playing it?

of course you can edit it with FMB, go to the missions folder which will be something like "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Missions\Campaign\DE\dgen_

Does the mission start on the ground with engine running and you beeing up to speed? That really sounds strange! Every mission I

I'm not a programmer, but no, I don't imagine any missions are supposed to generate like that , or just CTD, or lots of other stuff I've seen, but they do. if there's a conflict somewhere, doesn't that pretty much make anything that come's up fair game? Hell, even if you use just a stock install, that's gotta be better than going back to CFS2, no?

Vpmedia - Ok, I will

lofty_c - Well, that bit about CFS2 was an overstatement caused by frustration (I would not ever go back to it), but exactly how many QMB missions CAN you fly before it stops being interesting? Besides, playing the stock game was awesome several years ago, but now, with all the mods that make it about 163 times better, returning to it seems like a massive step-down.
