Ultra Pack & HHSFX JSGME versions interchangable?
#1

Before I do this I thought I'd ask advice. I have both versions up & operating, but hought it might be a good idea to use say the Warbirds of Prey from UP in the HSFX JSGME...or at least give it a try, maybe I can get a few campaigns that don't work now on HSFX to be more acceptable...but obviously i don't want to screw things up for little or no gain or for CTD...Anyone out there know their way around this utilities? :???:

To put it simply, yes.

Think of JSGME like a shopping bag. They're all the same. The difference is what you put in the bag.
JSGME is merely the tool you use to select which mods to activate. You can use the same JSGME for both HSFX and UP. What you can't do is use all the same mods. Some mods are made only for UP and some for HSFX, then others will work with both.

Hope I didn't confuse you too much.

They are *mostly* interchangeable, but certainly not everything. As Jinxx will confirm, all the JSGME does is copy the mod files to the correct locations in your game install, and you can look into the folders in the jsgmemods folder, and see what gets copied and where, in order to made a good guess if it is interchangeable or not. I'm almost certain NOT the WoP mod, but I haven't looked at it in detail.

My reasoning is this: The WoP mod is made with the *assumption* that the user has the UP pack as a base, and is just modifying/adding certain elements. In all likelihood, there is going to be something missing in HSFX, that UP has added or changed. I would be surprised if you did not get a 60% or 70% CTD, and even if the game did boot up and run, you will not likely pass a CRT check to join the WoP servers.

Too late...One of them...I think "Warbirds" did irreversable damage...currently reloading everything on a fresh install...fortunately I'm getting good at this- lots of practice!

I would have thought you could just disable it again in JSGME and it would go back to previous state. No?
