This post has totally revamped my HSFX package, thanks to all you cats who posted answers to all the questions I was having, especially with the 6 dof thing, I could get it to work but not lean forward (front zoom) and it was driving me bonkers, I followed the instructions , and had no issues, if this post is not a sticky, it should be!! Small problem, I don't see HSFX History Mod in Jsgmemods. There is an HSFX folder in my game folder and I get get it thru the switcher. I 'd like to be able to run it from the mod enabler. Should I copy the HSFX folder to Jsgmemods?...

Wayno, you have UP 2.01, technically, not HSFX, although it includes it. In UP 2.01 you activate HSFX with the UPSwitcher, not through JSGME.

The way the switcher works is by renaming the Files folder to deactivate it, so that the HSFX folder takes over. I think you would be asking for trouble to move it to the jsgmemods folder...although, in theory it could probably be made to work, I think there would be too many potential conflicts.

And anyways, why would you want to do that?

Does this modpack (HSFX) revamp some in-game flight models as well?
Because I find many planes in IL-2 to be very unrealistically twitchy, best example being the spitfire and P-47. When I'm above a 'stall speed' in either plane and turning, the aircraft decides to go into a spin for no apparant reason. Niether of these planes had such annoying problems in history. I also realized this only happens with airplanes from later installations of the IL-2 series, suggesting that their FMs were not as carefully designed as 'older' planes from the series, like the Bf-109F-2 and La-5FN.

Stall speed is increased when you are in a turn. That's the reason.

No stock Oleg planes were altered in HSFX (or any other mod pack).

I have found that the flat spin you talk about can ALSO be your stick set up.
I played with mine for a long time before I found the right settings to stop
some of that. Now if you HAUL back on your stick no settings will help. :roll:

I know this very well and have learned from it, but no matter how gently or forcefully I turn and control the P-47, it almost always spins on me.

This topic is about getting your IL-2 running with HSFX.

For those who need an HSFX download, don't quit on the Torrents. You can leave them connected overnight and will probably find the download in your computer in the morning.


I try to remember to activate my torrents, but obviously we need more torrent seeders at times.
