Controls Default help
#1

Well I've got everything working and up to HSFX 4.11. I'm trying to create a new default folder for control settings so I don't have to keep redoing controls for each new pilot. I create a new pilot and change the control settings in the game and apply the settings. I look for the new pilot in the "Users" folder but they don't show up, I've set up several new pilots so far with the same results. Is there somewhere else they might be?

lemme get this staright, you are creating new profiles and trying to set the same controls for each?

That's where they are supposed to show up...a new folder for every pilot you create, with last name of pilot.

But you can avoid most of the control setup for a new pilot by copying the settings.ini from a pilot folder you have set up the way you want, and replacing the default.ini in the Users folder. The game uses that default.ini to create new pilot. The only thing not in there is the sensitivity profiles for controllers, which are in the conf.ini, and should not change when you make new pilot anyhow.

RadPig94 and 8FS_Bulau,
Yes, that's what I'm trying to do but I'm not getting any new pilots folders from which to copy the settings.ini file from. I used to be able to do it on my old install of HSFX before the system crash and starting over. The new pilots settings are there when I run the game but they don't appear in the User folder. I'm stumped.

But you are able to create a list of pilots to select in game, in Pilots?

Try making a pilot with a unique last name, then do a search of your computer for a folder with that name, and see if it turns up somewhere.

Tried search (including file contents) using pilot's last name in C drive...found it... C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\HSFX\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Users\rangoon. must be a Windows 7 thing :!: Thanks for the help.

Yes. It's best to move, copy, or install the game somewhere outside of Program Files to avoid that sort of interference.

I found this thread very useful, also for I always have used a seperate folder called 'Programs' for all non operating system installs; i.e. games, art programs, video & music editing etc, and never thus had a 'program files' conflict/crash.
