7.62 aa not working?
#1

I noticed that these weren't firing while play-testing my campaign and I even set up a quick test mission wherein I presented myself as an easy target and nothing. The quad 7.62s both static and mounted work fine, but the singles do not inside or outside dugouts and sandbags. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, is there a fix?

Did you get these 7.62 AAA from the Artillery menu or the Stationary Objects menu? The latter will not fire. This may or may not be your problem but I've accidentally done it before.

The Artillery Quad 7.62 works for me. It may be a little bit too awesome! I prefer the single b/c the quad is too deadly.

I anticipated that question. Nope, they're from the artillery list. I'm right with you on the quads-a little too awesome. I like to use a couple singles to simulate small arms fire here and there and for my campaign, they're essential as weak ADA for some of the less defended towns etc.

I wonder if aircraft altitude might be too high and out of range for it??
I think I've seen this effect on AA 7.62 when out of range.
What is your altitude?

I have had this problem also - And I have switched the guns and they still
would not fire.
I was low and know they should have shot me but nothing.I really dont have an answer but some times I think it may be the location.I'm working on a map right now and have this problem.
Like that would or should have any thing to do with it.
If you find out let us all KNOW.

Passed over them high, low, slow (in a U2VS), put them in a wide-open field etc and nothing. Glad to see at least that I'm not the only one having an issue with this. I'm guessing that somewhere in the process of adding additional mods, tweaks etc. that they got turned off (if possible) but I wouldn't know where to look.

Blue guns vs. red planes do not fire? That's strange. I think I'll do some testing of that later tonight.

Tried both and had nothing. They had at one point worked in the campaign as I was building-testing-building-testing etc but suddenly stopped when I started a straight-through play test. I'll be interested to hear what you discover.

I had no problems. Single and quad fired. It took a little bit for the quad to "see the plane" but then it rotated and fired like normal. But I guess the reaction time is normal too.

There must be a mod conflict somewhere in your system. You may have to substitute a different AA gun.
Do you have clear skies with no clouds?

Ok I'm using UP and I did switch to a BLUE AA and they worked fine.
A little big but its AA that 7.62 single AA is just right.

Tried everything and not even getting a twitch out of them. I suppose it doesn't matter too much so long as it works for everyone else. I couldn't even begin to know how to isolate the issue. I hadn't touched the game in awhile and suddenly they don't work. Weird. Thanks for testing it on your own and letting me know that at least I'm not nuts.
