I can't wait until this is released.

I wish, though, that they'd show new features in a video say every 2 weeks, rather than show similar stuff every week Wink

I don't know..

Looking at that FPS of 14 and 40avg..

I think we will have to wait a year or two for the hardware to catch up with it such that it is playable..

Which may be why most of the youtube videos we have seen thus far are 'videos' of 'still' shots

Uber Graphics with Uber Realism, I hope My Computer can handle it. :o

SOW is looking to be the best of both worlds.

Looks like an effects+poly boosted IL-2 to me.
The good old IL-2 engine shines through on many occasions.
While SOW might be an optical improvement, currently I don't get the general advantage over IL-2 for real.
If SOW requires excessive hardware basics, it'll likely end up like FS X in the early years: Theoretically capable of improving the graphics a lot, but since the standard user, who could run the former version on highest detail level, has to step back nearly to the lowest level on the new version, the improvement turns into aggravation.

Just my 2 cents, other might/will/shall think different.

Best regards - Mike

Agreed 100%

Other than the shadowing effects..

The rest just looks like a slightly higher poly version of IL-2..

I guess what I am saying is I 'dont' see 8+ years of improvments over IL-2

Which can be taken one of two ways..

IL-2 was way ahead of it's time

Or

SOW is not that far ahead of IL-2

FPS 14 while flying in clear sky, above sea and just one plane in front of you.. Imagine the FPS when flying over London, flak, enemy airplanes, bad weather. FPS 04?

Even if this game was super fantastic and jaw dropping upon release I can guarantee someone would complain about something (i.e. "the english countryside was greener back in 1940, this game is terrible....") etc ad naus.

If it turns out to be the SH5 of 2010/2011 then and only then will I join the chorus of whining.

If it's only a slight improvement over IL2? Who cares? Is BOB Wings of VIctory better than IL2? Is B17 II better than IL2? Again, who cares? Each game brings it's own positive and negative aspects and some people think they are great games others think they suck. Why are some people still playing EAW? Is it the graphics? Is it the physics? I'm guessing neither, again who cares except the people playing the game.

Let's wait and see what's released for crying out loud then we can bitch to our hearts' content.

If you don't like the updates, don't take a look and come whining like a spoiled kid in here anymore ... please.
because that is what a lot of whiners are: spoiled.

Just wait and see, is it so hard???
I just keep myself going, do the things I like best and take a look every now and then to see if there's anything breathtaking
if there isn't, life goes on..., maybe next time; don't get so desperate man.

Ok,I don't wanna complain so I'll end like:
Nice update and I wish you all a very nice day!

Kind Regards

Yeah. Luthier provided those pictures, and from what he has said his computer is the test to ensure the game can run on medium spec machines.

If I remember right its a modern-ish proccessor with an elderly graphics card. As such it would be fairly typical of a modern computer brought for general use rather than a gaming machine.
