P-40C Mirror
#1

Any way to get the mirror back for the P-40C that came with the stock game? It was still available with the mod through UI 1.25, but It is no longer available with HSFX.

I have the mirrors in all of the other P-40's that are supposed to have them. Seems that HSFX removed the mirror from the P-40C. Heck the Hawk 81-A2 has it's mirror. Someone messed up when they embedded some of the mods in HSFX.

Yep, he's right...it's gone! Odd considering:

1. You can see it in the external view
2. This is a stock Oleg flyable, so why/how did it get changed?

BTW, it is the same situation in UP, which uses the same base .SFS files from HSFX.

It might be worth while to post about this over at the 242 Squadron website. They are the creators of HSFX. I'm sure they are already at work on the next version, which will of course have to wait until after the next TD release (4.10).
The TD release has been promised since March, so when that actually happens is anyone's guess. Hopefully soon.
In any case I'm sure the folks at 242 will want to know about this issue.

Normally I would do that, but after bringing up another mistake (beta mod for USN/USMC gun sights embedded into the history mod) I was told in no uncertain terms that HSFX was made for the 242 squadron and that they were happy with what they had created. If HSFX benefited the rest of the community it was purely accidental.

This is why there are other packs, like UP for example. You've got to hand it to 242sqn, as they have been up front and clear about their motives for making HSFX. That said, how do we know this is a mistake, and not simply their decision to remove the mirror from an early P-40 variant? I don't see why it would hurt to ask the question.

Does anyone know how to get the mirror back for the P-40C. It is available for the H-81A-2.

Install the P-40C Cockpit from the UI or AAA pack.
You'll be fine.

What the heck does this mean?

What was moved?

What was the right area?

Not trying to give anyone a hard time, but a statement like that with no explanation doesn't help anyone from making the same mistake again and again.

Which folder does it go into the JSGME Mods or MODS folder once extracted?

IL-2 1946\Mods folder.

If that one wasn't the correct one, let me know and I'll upload one of the older ones I have.

Mailman, you should be able to just put it onto your Mods folder.
