The noob topic, part 2.
#1

Good evening guys, I am sorry about opening another thread, but the other one was locked so.. here I am.

First, I am impressed by the warm welcome from this community and all the friendly suggestions you gave me. Very, very nice, thank you. Second: I am even more impressed by the clear, technical infos I've got from you all; thanks again.
I am tempted to install two instances of the game on two different computers and enjoy both the Mods, UP an HSFX; you simply made me drool about them by describing the features and the enhancements.

Coming back and discovering that the AAAmod has gone was kind of shocking. I thought it was like the spinal tap of this community, but I also suppose the new stuff goes long way beyond, enhancing the experience, am I right?

Just two final questions

1 - I literally LOVE Bender's sky mod... is it still compatible with HSFX and UP?

2 - I have seen a wonderful pack of effects mods by the user Socorrista, it is the Cinema Special FX; stunning smoke and fire effects. Again, is his great work compatible with UP and/or HSFX?

Well I think that's all so far, thank you again, hope to meet you soon, maybe online too. Please forgive my english, I'm doing my best but it is not my first language

Cz

PS - and all the stuff included in the sound mod (aircrafts, maps like english channel or slovenia).. is it included in the UP and HSFX packs? Thnx.

Bender ' s sky mod, I do not I have installed it.
The Cinema Special FX if it is compatible with UP/HSFX.
Generally all mods are often compatible with UP/HSFX, the problem is that many mods are not compatible among them.

It is wonderful... hundreds of more realistic skies in 2 clicks. Never had problems with it, I hope it will keep on working with the new packs, can't live without it.

The .exe just installs the application, then the application works on the original clouds (higher definition and bigger cloud textures are provided during the install)
With a recent pc, no problems. Some fps decrease may occur on older machines if you set huge clouds and max settings, just in that case.
It's worth a try; uninstaller is eventually very simple and clean.

I can't wait to take sunday afternoon for me and experiment all this stuff. The nice thing is that since the engine is relatively old, a modern PC is usually able to handle any pack and/or setting at a great frame rate. The machine I use to play so far is a Q9550/4gb RAM/GTX260 (1792Mb) and a WD raptor HD, the performance is always very good.

I don't think I will upgrade until Storm of war is out, that may be my killer application for a new pc.

So, I guess I'll start reading al the links and infos you provided, guys. And I will let you know, thank you very much, I really appreciated the effort.

Yeah, if they are even releasing it.

Of course they are. A couple weeks ago Maddox was asking around for pics of hystorical buildings in London and UK. They do not tend to create hype like other softhouses, but I am sure they're working hard. And about us, I think we are the strongest, most patient and fanatic fans ever. The game will come out, even if it took 10 years, and we'll be here to enjoy it.
The terrific idea is what will the community create on such a modern and powerful engine. I can't wait.
