This depends on the server. Some will require it, some may make it optional, and some will not allow it at all. You should be able to find the requirements for a particular server via HyperLobby, and/or via a website run by the server providers.

I have UP 2.01 with Pablo's unofficial addon pack for Ultrapack and I play onlin serveral times a week. The servers I mostly play are Skies of Valor, Ukdedicated2 and Warclouds. Never had any problem to get online.
I also have some individual added mods from here and SaS but with the latter, you always need to make sure you download the latest buttons (online version) and check if some mods are geiving trouble online (pink smoke from your plane -> delete mod).

Hi,

FlyingShark reminds me of a good point.

It could be a great idea to have one untouched mod pack copy for online and another copy for offline mods collecting. Some folk don't have the disk space for it, but if possible it makes things go much smoother in the bigger picture of things.

coolo,

I just remembered something else:

Your UltraPack mod pack has a thing called the JSGME Mods Enabler. Do you know how to use it? You should have gone into the main IL-2 folder and found the file icon for the JSGME Mods Enabler and made a short cut from that icon.

The Mods Enabler will let you switch to HSFX, UltraPack, or Stock 4.09m, for example. You can also easily add a mod (usually) and switch them ON or OFF. In this way, you can use it to become compatible with online servers.

Actually, Fireskull, with UP 2.01, switching between UP and HSFX is now done with the UPSwitcher, a separate switcher utility, not the JSGME.

Hi,

8FS_Bulau, thanks once again for keeping me up to date on changes. Guys like you are a rare and valued few, with the keeping to the facts and going all the way to help people.

The UPS Switcher idea brought a bunch of customization advantages to mind over the generic mods enabler. That's a wise choice on the part of the UltraPack leadership. They would need a customized switcher with all the things they are juggling. Confusedhock:
