Help with adding Engine sounds
#1

I'm just getting back into Il2 after being out for a couple of years and I see there are a whole lot of changes! It will take me a while to get up to speed on all the things you folks have put together to make the sim better.

In the mean time, and now that I have a brand new vanilla install of Il2 1946 w/4.10m, I'd like to add just some new engine sounds (specifically the 109) to the sim. Are there any files I can just drop in (saving the original of course) to the Il2 folder with out all the "HSFX's" and other programs I've seen in the last few days to get them? I've heard JAFA's and Tiger's sounds are pretty good and I'd like to try them.

S! and thanks up front.

You will have to install one of the mods to use them.

PERIOD.

Once you decide on one, let us know and we can help guide you through the process.

Thanks Jinnxx. I seem to remember an .SFS engine sound file or something like that, that i dropped into the IL2 folder but that was 3 or 4 years ago. Apparently I didn't save it.

Since mod programs are the only solution these days, and there seem to be two or three out there, any suggestions on which one? (Especially if it includes JAFA's and Tiger's sounds which I heard on You-Tube) I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Goto to the Mod Download section and you'll see a 'Sticky' post from me on how to mod 4.10.
Then you can D/L the Korea Sounds (Uses a lot of Tiger33's stuff) and use them from the JSGME.
