I feel that the best course of action now would be to send a PM to the author of the Hawaii map, let him know the FPS which you get, and ask him what he gets. Ask him for advice.

you know iv been one of the ones having trouble with my 260. iv tweaked and tweaked and tweaked...i heard you say its normal for fps to drop in situations like lots of AAA or lots of smoke/fire/particles, big cities and that seems to be the only problem im having. but when i saw that it made me wonder if its just normal for il2. as iv said before my game runs a solid 59 60 fps and only drops in those situations. if its a extremely intense situation it will be in the low 30s mids 20s or if its just somewhat intense it will drop down to the low 50s and 40s

I dont know how to do so i can see my Fps . Can some 1 help with that. And when i crash into water , flying near clouds , the dirt who fly to you when u power over 20% on your engine on the ground gives me -fps almost. It lagg like s**** ****. And should i have Driect X or Open GL?

There is a command line the the Controls list for FPS counter. You probably know that the Controls contains such key commands as flaps, engine management, super-charger stages, and so forth.

I use Fraps for counting. Fraps is free.

What type of graphics card do you have (VGA - Video Graphics Array) ?

If you have a good one, then you should be able to run in OpenGL. Some very old systems might run better on DirectX, because OpenGL is more demanding but has better quality.

RadPig is right: A 9400 card can handle OpenGL.

all i can tell you are the basics, idk the insides of a computer too well.

i run a desktop with a dual-core at 1.6 ghz
of course GPU is integrated (but, I'll switch to this soon: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814261056 )
4gb memory
and windows 7
i run anywhere from 60 fps to 30, here's my conf.ini, how will i be able to run it at ok steady FPS with my integrated GPU in the mean time?

Radpig,

The system which you have is (pardon my frankness) not a strong one, so I recommend DirectX for challenged systems. (Most people should use OpenGL)

Your system should not receive any powerful upgrades because it is not designed to handle any monster sized equipment. In my opinion, you should continue to save money for a whole new, powerful rig someday.

no offense taken. but the card i have chosen is good for this kind of computer, and this desktop is still brand new, and the integrated GPU is NVIDIA, so i already use opengl

Radpig,

You wrote that your CPU is around 1.6 Ghz, which is not compatible in the area of performance with the NVIDIA card that you want to get.

That would be like putting a muscle car transmission connected to a family car engine, if you see what I am saying.

actually it runs much faster on OpenGL mode, on directx i get at most 20 FPS just starting on the tarmac
