We have a month to wait while "Beta" CoD is fully flight tested in Europe...I think there may be several patches available by 2,May...Think optomistically..besides modded Il-2 is still great fun!

Yes, at the moment we're doing here a lot of beta testing! CoD is already faster!
We're gathering huge amount of experiences with all these thousands of pilots and their computers...

In the last 48 hours I didn't slept a single minute!

Therefore and because we're doing it just for the hole community - Oleg promised us a few "Secret Weapons" specially for us Germans ....

So, stay alert and watch the news around the globe... CoD is coming to be better and better every second...

May I ask a ( probably) stupid question? I have never dl'd a whole sim game before,so is it possible to put it on a dvd instead of the hard drive & then install to hard drive? In doing so I would have a dvd now instead of waiting to get one in a month.Common sense tells me "No" since someone could then do copy after copy of whatever sim he downloaded...
I really would like to get CoD sooner than a month from now...but I'm not loosing sleep over it...

You'll have to wait, but Amazon.com sells the DVD.

a lot of you may think its brill but i think that the engine in COD is pretty poor.
Firstly i was disappionted of how the guns fire, their sound is quite frankly terrible. Also my computer is fairly decent yet i cannot run above 30fps on medium-low. i guess im just gonna have to wait to get enough money to go out and buy a supercomputer to play this at medium let alone high.

i have been looking forward to this sooo much and i feel rather disappionted with the result that 1c have come up with

By the way,

you don't need really a DVD. You just need the Code. You have to install Steam first - then put the DVD in..
I did it this way, and steam was downloading the hole game, and the newest update, anyway.
It took half an hoer with a fast connection..
After that: start the game and it run, more or less!

When you will get it in the US - be happy now - honestly - you might get it in a much better condition then we did here in Europe!? :-?
You know - beta tester.... 8)

So, don't worry - be happy! Big Grin

I agree at some parts. Though, it seems that no one knows the epic magic of patches.
Wait for a while, play 1946 to fill your waiting time, check 1c forums of updates, and play. Do you think 1c is proud of this all, too?

Does anyone one reckon that 1c and oleg can release a patch to not only make the game smoother as some parts of it are very clunky but also if they can make it more fps friendly. However this may be mostly down to the epilepsy filter more than anything but I am sure this can already be turned off in the conf.ini file

Excuse me?

It's the world upside down here. Speaking for myself, I will buy a game when it's good and finished.

COD is unfinished, graphics, sound and gameplay lack. And we should respect 1C? People pay for this game, people expect a quality product. Not a game that needs patches to make it somewhat playable. And we have to feel sorry for the developers?

Come on, they promised a lot and still promise everything. 5 years delay, lies and then they release a game that looks like a powerpoint slideshow.

If they give me a free copy i will install it and tweak it. But i only buy it if they convince me with a quality release.

you people complain too much... IL-2 1946 only runs on a 30 fps average on low settings... and i'm happy with it

My IL-2 runs about 75 fps to 130 fps. NEVER 30
