UP 3.0 will not support 4.11, 4.12, etc
#16

wtf is this? an english lesson?

I never said HSFX couldn't be used for online dogfights. What i actually said is that "it's designed for SEOW". You and monguse go find an english teacher and ask them how that means it's not compatible or usable for online dogfighting.

Also you'd probably like to know that neither HSFX5 or UP3 will be compatible with 4.11m anyway and I can 99% guarantee you on that. It would end up being UP4 or HSFX6 by then. Are you expecting HSFX5 to support 4.11 and all the patches to infinity and beyond? Stop living in a dream world mate. If things were that easy everyone would be modding. If you still don't get it then nevermind, that's why the public only get shown the little chopped down bits and not the full story, you wouldn't understand if I told you everything anyway. Saying if you want to stick with patches and mods then choose HSFX5 means nothing. If you go to patch 4.11 it'll be HSFX6 and a whole new UP version again if they decide to support it for reasons explained by Anto. So whichever HSFX or UP you choose right now makes no difference. You can't follow patches with HSFX5 or UP3. It's like you're trying to say go follow all the official patches with HSFX3, do you have HSFX3 which works with 4.101m?

The fact that what I wrote is short is because firstly I can't be bothered to explain everything having just woke up, secondly I'd rather not disclose information that shouldn't be by accident as I have read lots of various stuff behind the scenes. Needless to say you have no reply, you just decided to analyse everything I said and basically conclude that I know nothing and that I'm having a go at you. Fine then, so be it have fun.

You may want to analyse this as well, I think there's a lot of meaning behind what I've written, such as the fact I haven't fully explained everything still as if I don't know anything trying to cover up world war 3.

Howdy Sani glad to see you.

As we all know IL2 was designed to be used in many ways. Much of the content is available no matter how the user wants to use the game. This includes offline, online, DCG offline DGC online, wonder woman or locked pit and everything in between.

That the guys from SEOW came up with ideas how to extend and create objects and their associated events is a good thing because that allows the ideas to flow freely. On that note, other people not associated with SOEW have contributed ideas for new objects to be used in HSFX. That allows any campaign parser that wants to use the objects or new events are free to do so.

For instance we currently use FBDJ with HSFX 5.0.1 as well as native 4.10.1 we also use a custom parser for our online campaign that has been extended to read the new objects and their events. Before 5.0 we used HSFX as well for our DF server and online dogfight style campaign.

So much for HSFX is for SEOW only, as some have repeated.

The following is provided for those that are seeking answers and info to make informed decisions..

That is to say I am not replying to F22-Raptor-2006 as much as I am replying to those who may be reading this thread to point out F22-Raptor-2006s omissions and errors

Before we begin, take note that F22-Raptor-2006 did not address, let alone refute anything that I said.

This is a typical tactic used by those who wish to take the focus of the thread off the subject at hand.

And as for his most recent post.. Just more of the same so not really worth comenting on beyond what he as already proven himself to be

And thus his post is not worth addressing either.. Just more of the same weak atempts to try and take the focus off the topic at hand.. Im sure if pressed he to would try to use the lame excuse that 'He can't be bothered to explain everything' or 'He rather not disclose information' as if to imply he is some how more special than the rest of us

Anto Wrote:Aces, have you ever considered the possibility that 4.11 won't support mods? It has been threatened by members of TD in the past and considering the difficulty the modding community has had adapting to 4.101m, I would not be surprised if they pursued this route. In addition, who even said that a 4.11 patch will come out? TD have advertised they are working on some features, but remember that 4.10 came out a year late AND the amount of issues it caused to even stock games were significant. So I would not expect a 4.11 patch anytime soon.

As for UP3.0 being incompatible with the 'stock' version of the game, well every UP, HSFX, even UI, has been incompatible with the stock version of the game. That is nothing new. What you are kicking a fuss up about is the talks that the major modding sites are not going to support future official patches. I can tell you now as a senior member of SAS, this is not 100% the case. If 4.11 requires minimal work to adapt to mods, then we will use it. If it causes the absolute clusterf*ck of issues that 4.10 had OR TD lock the patch, then we have no choice but to split off our development. To put it simply, our decision is based entirely on what TD decide to do. It won't be our decision that splits the community, but theirs.

Lets consider the Il-2 community. There are a few who are convinced that mods are evil, buggy or waste of time, so they will not be affected by TD's decision. Then there is HSFX, who are a small bunch of dedicated people who play SEOW (and would like to remain that way without excess advertising), Histomod (again, small dedicated bunch) and then the vast majority are distributed between UP, SAS and related sites. As for online play, the majority of large servers and squadrons use UP, followed by stock (with a few SEOW servers and occasional Histomod after that). If TD locks 4.11, stock game is fine but ALL modding packs will be affected. Hence it would be in the communities best interest for the major packs to abandon the official patches and work on improving what they have (which in quality and quantity already far exceeds TDs efforts, especially considering sound packs, effects and wide screen support). Why waste the time and effort working on an official patch when the 'official' team don't want you to? Again to reinforce my point, it is up to TD. If they want to split the community, they can. UP and SAS have opted to keep an open mind and adopt whatever best fits our community interests.

Considering that you praise yourself on being a 'fact finder', I'm amazed you have drawn some pretty incorrect conclusions based on the information freely available. I sense a bit of old 'I don't like UP' bias in your post Wink And most of all, a lack of understanding of what it actually takes to prepare a pack like HSFX or UP. I wouldn't be surprised if HSFX jumped off official patches if TD made it too difficult to mod 4.11 Wink

Now SAS and UP appreciate that you next time check your information and not post inflammatory remarks across the community. Oh and whilst most people would be happy for free advertising, the SEOW crowd really don't want every man and his dog interfering with their campaign, so probably lay off pumping HSFX to everyone  And I'm sure even Deutchemark doesn't appreciate one of his own trying to start a flame war at his own site.

 you do have some nerves, don't you?

Yes, yes, I know...

"Before we begin, take note that Crazyflak did not address, let alone refute anything that I said.

This is a typical tactic used by those who wish to take the focus of the thread off the subject at hand..... yadayadayadayada......"

About the subject at hand: I'll make it simple for a disturbed mind like yours. UP30 does OBVIOUSLY NOT support 4.11 nor 4.12 nor 4.13 because:

1) it is designed for 410m just as UP2.0 was intended for 409m (and incompatible with 410m)

2) patches 4.11, 4.12, 4.13 do not exist, so they are impossible to support. Otherwise, download link, please?

So, NO I don't refute, because you are trivially right, I just clear up that you are not adding ANYTHING that anyone didn't knew ages ago.

At last and as an HSFX5.0 fan, please, stop embarrassing us I am pretty sure HSFX5.0 team would be inmensely grateful to you if you just shut up and stop talking trash with dubious intentions.

As personal favour, also I would like to ask you to return to your FM reports which at least are usefull to me. Believe me, promoting certain packs and bashing others is really NOT your thing. Recognize your limitations and stick at what your good at.
