Wierd Graphics bug after clean install of v5 + Hotfix. Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rq0XMLQDzo

Strange Graphics issue with Smoke Tracer on all aircraft. I have included a screengrab showing the JGSME Mods enabled and also there are no other Mods in any separate Mods folders.

This also occurs with the Tiger Flyby and Hakenkruz Disabled too.

Nvidia 560GTX-TI with Driver 270.61 installed

This is in version stated at start of video.

MP,

Need to know what your OpenGL settings are in the conf.ini and what settings you have for your card in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Apologies, an essential piece of information of-course.

Just changed a few settings...no problems with any smoke effects, tracer on P-51, 47 is fine and also when it hits the aircraft .
I have the same problem with the 109 series of aircraft as I have shown with the Sabre ....it's almost like it's compressed all the tracer smoke into a single texture?

Hope that helps or someone can help me?

Okay, slight progress.

I went into the JGSME Folder and activated the "Effects Low" option (which is gutting) and I get all the Smoke Tracer effects as they should appear from the Sabre and 109. Turning Effects Low off returns me to the condition you see posted in the video?

I have no-other Mods activated and the conf.ini is as you see, but it appears that there is some sort of Graphics glitch in the tracer smoke if I don't ebanle the "Effects Low" option?

So, does that give any pointers?

Hi, Mysticpuma

I think that most likely it is the mod itself.

However, you should always have Texture Filtering - Negative LOD bias in a setting of CLAMP if it is available in the options. This might effect the texture of the tracer. If no CLAMP is available, then set to ON.

Test the Antialiasing - Gamma correction with OFF and next ON to choose the best image. In some mods, ON will create problems with image.

Look under IL-2 game settings for your Nvidia control panel.
If you're using the Global settings only, you need to disable Ambient Occlusion.
It's not supported by IL-2.

Gents, thanks for trying, but still no resolution to this issue.

I have tried your suggestions, and also created a new profile in Nvidia Control panel. What I can't understand is I have no issues with the Tracer smoke on some aircraft, just Tracer Smoke on the Sabre and 109, however enabling the Effects Low in JGSME gives me perfect tracer smoke.

I don't know what Mod is used to create the Tracer Smoke, but by disabling Effects Low, I presume it enables the Mod?

My install (with lots of Smoke Mods) for HSFX 4.11 has the option to enable or disable using JGSME Effects High or Low, OR if you don't enable either, it uses what's in your Mods folder.

Enabling Effects High gives me the same results (after disabling the MODS Folder) as listed above?

Is anyone else able to re-create this issue? It has to be a smoke texture bug as it is only visible with Effects High enabled.

Can anyone else go in an F-86 Sabre and just shoot, then look at the smoke, not the tracer effect after installing v5.01 and test it for me?

If the effects are Low, I get tracer and tracer smoke, if I leave it as a stock install of v5.01, I get tracer but the smoke is compressed into a 2D Sprite, but only on the Tracer or smoke effects where the trcaer hits an aircraft. All other smoke effects work perfectly?

Still hoping that I can get this resolved, cheers, MP

Hi Mysticpuma,

a question about your nVidia driver: did you installed it as an update or new?

I had severe problems with my latest update from 266.58 to 270.61.
I really thought my Card was gone!!
After installing nVidia 270.61 new and fresh - the problems are completely gone.

Maybe you test this:

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=2
TexCompress=0
TexFlags.UseDither=1
TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
TexFlags.UseIndex=0
TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0
TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=0
TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=0

TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

HardwareShaders=1

Shadows=2
Specular=2
SpecularLight=2
DiffuseLight=2
DynamicalLights=1
MeshDetail=2
VisibilityDistance=3

Sky=2
Forest=3
LandShading=3
LandDetails=2

LandGeom=3
TexLarge=1
TexLandQual=3
TexLandLarge=1

VideoSetupId=17
Water=4
Effects=1
ForceShaders1x=0

Good luck!

Jambo :wink:

Thanks for the try. Copied the settings into my conf.ini but sadly no result. Smoke from the Sabre tracer stays as shown in the video post Sad

Thanks for trying though.
