Airfields Textures V1 ( Circa AAA - 2008 )

I don't know who made this back then (2008) at AAA, but I was searching here for it, to see if it has been
preserved... I could not locate it. However have found it burried deep in one of my own disk drives.
Made for 4.09m at the time... before UP2. I believe it was made part of UP2, or at least a V2.
But there is none of this yet in UP3...

In the file, I also found a document (no name) with a link to the original mediafire download, and the link still works!

after having suffered a lot the poor quality of the airfiled textures provided in the IL-2, that mainly while you are in ground makes you see something totally unreal, I started to wonder a solution.

A topic I created in this forum and a research made me understand that nothing better had been created, so I started to manipulate create images with PhotoPaint, convert them with GIMP, etc., etc until reaching the results below.

What I MODded: 4 of the stock textures included with IL-2 (Desert, Ground, GroundWinter and Pac_Gr) plus one texture provided for airfields in Cannon Channel Map (BitumenEarth).

In which way: I twiced the linear resolution of them, making the _512.tga that originally were 512x512 pixels to 1024x1024 pixels. Created new shapes (instead of the fiber like originals) that are more logical and real, added a center guide line and some paths at the start/end of the track, used detailed fill textures, etc.

To install just copy the folder inside the .rar to your MOD folder. Enjoy and tell me about any possible improvements.
