IL2 doesn't see CH pedals
#1

A buddy and I have independently spent hours combing the web looking for an answer to the question Why doesn't IL2 see our CH Products pedals?

We're stumped. We both run Win7, we both have Thrustmaster Warthog stick/throttle, we both have CH pedals.

We've tried CH Control Manager, we've IDed 'em with JoyID. Every other program and utility sees the pedals except JoyCtrl (which is using IL2 conf.ini) and Il2.

DCS A-10C, FSX, Wings of Prey, Rise of Flight all see and accept the pedals. Not IL2.

We're stumped. Anyone have any theories?

IL-2 can probably see only so many devices

Il 2 will only see a total of 4 devices. I use Pro throttle, Fighterstick and two Quadrant Throttles. I use the mini stick on the Pro Throttle for rudder. In the past I have used my Pro-pedals but found them to be the most unstable on IL2. If anything crapped out in flight ... it was the pedals. In general pedals don't do much so a second Quantrant Throttle gives me levers for hook, air brakes, radiator and trims.

You need to manually edit your conf.ini file.
The settings you are looking for are 1RX, 1RY and 1RZ Those are the toe brakes and the rudder.

Here is part of my rts joystick section for reference.

As far as IL-2 only seeing 4 devices...... You are only partially correct. You can manually edit the conf.ini file to add more devices if necessary. I currently have 2 Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougars installed w/ CH Pro Rudders.

You may also have to make sure that your HOTAS rudder is disabled. (Haven't gotten my Warthog yet, so I'm unsure on this).
Recommend you try using IL-2 Joy Control if you still have issues getting the rudder to work. That way you can at least make sure that the proper entries are being made in your conf.ini file.
