Problem with accessing HSFX 5
#1

Its been a while since I was on AAA and when I came back it was gone! Sad but then I was redirected to AAS which to my great happiness is alive and kicking Big Grin so I havent touched IL2 46 for a while and now that I have come back to it, I wanted to install the new HSFX 5 with access to all the new planes, extra missions, and all that good stuff. After torrenting the files, I installed them into my 4.10.1 il2 46 and used JSGME to enable history mod. I click on my desktop shortcut for il2 46 and I tried quick mission builder and the plane list was still the same with none of the new planes included, so then I sent into the hsfx folder and found the executable associated with the history mod which was also entitled il2fb, I run that in administrator mode and it just freezes @ 60% on the load screen, I tried again in compatibility mode for xp and it got to 95% and froze. I was really sad about that because I really wanna play HSFX 5! So can anyone help me out? Thanks alot! :Smile)

Hi, Yantu and welcome back Smile

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds as though there is something wrong in the patch installation.

You need to get IL-2 1946 patched to 4.101 but make sure that you do not miss any of the patches between 1946 and 4.101

Also, test the downloads for corrupt files before you apply the patches or use the hash count ( hash sum ) method if you can and then apply each patch after it is tested. Each step of patching, you should run IL-2 to make sure that all is well. This only takes a couple minutes and worth the prevention of hours of rework later. Be sure to point each patch and eventually HSFX directly at the main IL-2 folder.

There is an IL-2 patched in one download here to save time and work (read down the information page):

Are you using the HSFX switcher called the JSGME mods enabler? Be sure to have the HistoMods activated in it.

You might confuse some people a bit here FS. HSFX is (was? - it's not said much now) 'History Special Effects' mod pack, but is definitely not HistoMod.
HistoMod and HSFX are totally different packs by seperate groups, each with their own focus on things.
