Amazing,

"Mr Cundall said the government had promised him it would be making no claim on the aircraft, of which 21,000 were originally produced, and that he would be entitled to a share in them."

It means that he has 20 Spitfires now ??? 20 REAL SPITS ??? Confusedhock:

“They were just buried there in transport crates,” Mr Cundall said. “They were waxed, wrapped in greased paper and their joints tarred. They will be in near perfect condition.”

I hope it's true !!!!

Can't wait to see them fly again !!! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Deutschmark,

do you have a parking spot - in front of your home maybe?

Would be really great to see these 20 Spitfire flying together in a formation once.

I doubt all 20 will fly again. Some will be heading for static display, others broken up for parts. Bear in mind only so many people can afford to operate such aircraft and costs are rising inexorably - spare parts and insurance will eventually ground many WW2 aeroplanes.

I also notice the Telegraph has taken the page down.

That would be a really great day if that happens and I hope it dose Big Grin

I think I've seen some thing like 10 fly in formation and that was an amazing day, especially getting a face full of grass from a Spit warming its engine up before it took to the sky Smile.

Any way there was a rumours some time last year that they found a load of zeros boxed up and buried some where around the Gulf of Thailand I think, any one know if it was true and what happened?

A couple new links are in the first post.

This story is in many websites, so it seems to be real. Big Grin
