Here's my critic: this reticle is a photo, and a camera does not record things the way we do.
In my game this gunsight is somewhat blurry, with thin edges and an irregular circle. Tipycally it's the way a camera will see a very shiny object against a darker background, but our eyes are much better for contrasting the edges.
So, despite i like the color that looks more "shiny" than oleg's regular gunsight, the blurry aspect and the leaking color at the edges make that i'll stick with Oleg's gunsight.
Critic ended, i hope it will be received as contrusctive criticism, that's the way it was written.
yeh but its not really just a blur.. its a reflection on the other side of the glass.. truth is that ive never saw a workin gunsight from a ww2 warbird, but i did on a modern jet and weapons..
and lets face it, even in real it would never be that sharp and precise as the old il2 reticles were..
Lt.Wolf Wrote:would the gunsight reticles look better smaller? i know that when you press shift F1 you zoom in and see the full cross. if the reticle was reduced in size to what it is in shift f1 so that the whole sight fills it, the gun cross range will be reduced to 200 yrds not 100 yrds. What do you guys think? would it look better? un realistic but i remember seing bf109 crosses a bit smaller? it can be done but i dont think in a tga file, in the individual cockpit files of each plane.ive seen smaller just as well as bigger (have photos if interested) but for example the revi in 109 was set to 100mils, that means that an aircraft with 10m wingspan at 100m distance from gunsight would have filled the circle..
