It should be entirely possible to substitute the tex's used for the airfields with those from others. I did a quick test whilst messing around with something else on the weekend. I forget the names of the textures but they (4 textures) have the suffixes *gnd_64, *gnd_128, *gnd_256 and *gnd_512. You generally cant open these files but they would simply be a tileable *.tga texture of the surface of the runway. Subsitute these textures for images of block colours of different colours and open FMB and you'll see what I mean. If you just wanted to swap grass for desert you could grab the textures for the desert type and replace the grass ones.

4.edit load.ini as you like
5.open maps_ru.properties ( files\i18n\) and change name of empty1a to desired name for example Kuban-desert

Couldn't just add a line to the maps_ru.properties rather than replace a line to get an extra map instead of replacing one. Just a thought Wink
