Nope, it is actually pretty easy. You will be able to fly the kate yourself in an offline campaign, or an online coop for that matter. You can lead your flight of Kates off Japanese carriers to sink the Lexington if you wish. I could set you up on how to do it. It is not too difficult.
If you are interested download the DCG program from here http://www.lowengrin.com/download.php?view.120. Simply unzip the rar pack to a folder on your desktop. Cut and paste this folder into your IL2 game folder. Go into the DCG folder and start the program once. It will ask you for your DCG program location and your IL2 game location (.exe) Once you have that done let me know and I can set you up
