According to this site http://www.faqs.org/docs/air/avp47.html the P-47D-40 included the K14, but it also states that the D40 modification of a dorsal fin was done in the field. Does not explicitly state that the K14 was installed.

And this French Wikipedia site http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_P-47_Thunderbolt confirms the K14 in the D40 with over 1400 aircraft produced.
