The real problem is finding a photo with the actual illuminated reticle.. I'm wondering if the one in the above photos is functioning properly. If this is the case, there should be a way to find one with the reticle projected on the glass...
Concerning the issue of which aircraft should be fitted with it, I guess we should start with the ones that already have the 3-d model of it installed. These are either very late war or 'fictional' 1946 machines that would have been fitted with such a sight anyway: Ta-183, Ta-152 C, Me-262 HG, He-162 C.
As far as the other luftwaffe machines, I think it should be restricted to Fw-190 D-9 , Fw-190 A-8/9
, Fw-TA-152 H and maybe Bf-109 K-4 and He-162 although I have no proof that these actually used the Askania.
