hi guys,
Thanks for your input in the topic & all ideas/comments have my highest respect, however, just for the sake of discussing/clarifying, i do not see this project as a STAR WARS idea.
On the contrary, it is a very intresting 'alternative history' idea, where by adding 1 object, ie 'long carrier', we would be opening a multitude of scenarious.
Let me ask you guys if I may, would you have preferred the 'lerche' or the 'Graff Zeppelin? in the 1946? Remember that the Graff Zeppellin was actually built (the hull at least), captured by the russians, and used as a storage vessel & then target practice.......so it wasn't that STAR WARS!
On landing on Carriers, I can also land almost anything on full real on a fast moving carrier, but that comment is a bit unrealistic, because what you want is to be able to 'take off' with a reasonable amount of fuel & bombload to be able to carry a mission. If the solution is in 405, well, why not, we would then also be able to maybe add torpedoes to Stukas! :wink:
If you want a good 'Star wars' idea......here goes......lets make the 262 flyable with the lerche engines & create our own 'Kriegsmarine VTOL carrier force'.......now that....I accept as STAR WARS!
