I wonder if its to do with my processor being Hyperthreaded ?

I have hyperthreading and have no problems.. I never had to change anything in any file.. besides, it's old technology now and if there were a problem, we would have had to tweak something years ago.. my guess is you are using some mods that I don't use, or maybe a different version of something...
