Here are some Photos of the Nungshigum Hill Mission. Nungshigum was a hill on the Imphal plain that over looked downtown Imphal, and the Allied Airbase, and Heart of India/Burma Actions at the time, Imphal Main.
Here you see a flight of ACG P-51A's take to the sky while Underfire from IJA Artillery on Nungshigum.
Now we get to see the Monster In action, the Famed B-25H and its Murderous 75mm Cannons. Notice the effect of the cannon shell as it hits the ground in our second picture. Also note the ammount of damage these B-25's could give to ground targets in the following pictures.
The real ACG was full of Fighter pilots, however they loved the B-25H, which never had a Norden Bombsight, and was never ment for level bombing, only heavy duty straffing jobs, much like a fighter would.
Enjoy!
