I wonder wether you could make an additional mod that changes the standard markings to the new ones.
I mean replacing the stock markings with the modded ones.
That would spare writing in the console and everyone could set up their favorite setup in the modfile.

I'll see what can be done, some things are possible even without moding, I used to have script for icons so i only had to start it once from console and in every mission I played I had my favorite icons settings. Of course if I exited the game I had to start script again when i restarted the game.

First two thumbs shows different settings for friends and enemies and on third is my favorite setting with same color and character for both sides.

BTW Here is a list of possible colors:

0=Black
1=Red
2=Blue
3=Green
4=Gold
5=Purple
6=Aqua
7=Maroon
8=Navy
9=Emerald
10=Olive
11=Magenta
12=Teal
13=Orange
14=Turquoise
