I'll just give you a status of what I know, and T, spud, and Skunk can fill you in on the rest.
All of the geography is in, and texturing is about 95 percent complete; just some fine-tuning on these two items, remain to be done.
About 99 percent of the place-name labeling and objects for villages, plantations and small towns on Tulagi, Gavutu, Tanambogo, Malaita, Florida, and Guadalcanal are complete.
About 95 percent of all the villages, plantations, small towns, and labeling are complete for the rest of the islands in the Solomons chain, and over the next few days I will check every place-name on the map for errors and final object placement. This should take no more than a few days.
I am still trying to get copies of USS Mackinac's (AVP-13) deck logs, from the US National Archives, for the early part of the campaign in order to make sure we have the US sea plane base locations on Malaita correct.
T and spud are working on completing the airfield lay downs. There are still several airstrips on Guadalcanal that need to be built, and that is probably the "longest pole in the tent", as getting everything on the airstrips properly laid out, and spawn points entered and tested is very time consuming ( T has spent at least a week of concentrated effort on Piva, alone).
Skunk has completed his home move and is back on-line, and will be making several small changes to coastlines, etc., over the next few days.
Once the "late war version" of the map is complete, we probably have a few days of airfield deleting, and re-texturing, that is required to build '42, '43, and '44 versions of The Slot required by the community.
The release date is up to Skunk, but my personal opinion is that everything is tracking well for Skunk's anticipated March release date.
